Privacy Policy for “chat ai”

This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) explains how masaki matsushita, based in Tokyo, Japan (“we”, “us” or “our”), handles information in connection with the application “Chat AI” (the “App”).

By using the App, you agree to the handling of your information in accordance with this Policy.

  1. Text and other content that you input into the App (e.g., chat messages)

  2. AI-generated responses provided through the App

  5. Technical information that may be automatically transmitted in the course of communication (such as IP address and device identifiers)

  1. When you use the chat functionality, the text you input is sent from the App directly to OpenAI’s API servers for the purpose of generating AI responses.

  2. We do not store your conversation content on servers managed by us. Conversation history may be stored only locally on your device.

4. Purposes of Use

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  1. To provide, operate, and improve the App

  2. To analyze usage and fix bugs, errors, and other technical issues

  3. To prevent and investigate misuse, abuse, or other inappropriate use of the App

  4. To respond to inquiries from users

  5. To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests from administrative or judicial authorities

5. Transmission to and Use by External Services (OpenAI)

  1. The App sends the text you input and other information necessary to generate responses to OpenAI’s API service.

  2. OpenAI’s servers may be located outside your country (for example, in the United States), and your information may therefore be transferred to and processed in other countries.

  3. According to OpenAI’s published policies, data sent via the API is, in principle, not used to train OpenAI’s models, and may be retained for a limited period for purposes such as monitoring for abuse. For details, please refer to OpenAI’s own privacy policy and data usage policy.

  4. Apart from the above, we will not provide your personal information to third parties without your consent, except where required by law.

6. Retention Period

  1. We retain collected information only for as long as is necessary to achieve the purposes described in this Policy and will delete or anonymize such information when it is no longer needed, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

  2. Conversation history used in the App is not stored on our servers. It may be stored on your device, and you may delete it using the functions of the App or your device settings, where available.

7. Security Measures

We will take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we handle from unauthorized access, leakage, loss, alteration, or destruction.

8. User Rights

  2. We will verify your identity and respond appropriately in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

9. Age Restriction

The App is intended only for users who are 18 years of age or older. If we learn that we have collected information from a user who is under 18 years old, we may take steps to delete such information as appropriate.

  1. We may modify this Policy from time to time as necessary.

  2. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by displaying the revised Policy within the App or by other appropriate means.

  3. The revised Policy will become effective when it is displayed within the App. If you continue to use the App after the revised Policy becomes effective, you will be deemed to have agreed to the revised Policy.
